Thulite is an attractive pinkish red variety of zoisite. Its color is due to the presence of manganese. Thulite is also polished or carved to make small ornaments. It is often confused with rhodonite. Thulite usually occurs in the form of a rock inter-grown with greyish white quartz.
Occurrence
Thulite occurs in Austria, Norway, Italy, Western Australia, and North Carolina (USA).
