Prase is another green-colored form of chalcedony. It is prized because of its rarity. Prase has a more somber hue than chrysoprase.
Occurrence
Prase occurs in Poland and Czech Republic/Slovakia. However, since 1965, the best quality material comes from Queensland (Australia). Other localities are Austria, Brazil, Urals (Russia), and California (USA).
