Petalite is a rare and fragile stone. For this reason, it is cut and polished for collectors only. A petalite stone is transparent, white, or colorless, occurring as tabular or columnar prisms with a glassy appearance. Massive petalite is more common and is cut en cabochon.
Occurrence
Elba (Italy), Austria, Brazil, Finland, Sweden, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and the USA are the sources of petalite crystals.
