Blue aragonite is found in many different habits: small, elongated, prismatic crystals form in radiating groups, and concretions and stalactites are also common. It has poor cleavage.

Occurrence

Aragonite is found mainly in sedimentary environments. It may form as tufa (porous rock) in Turkey and Czech Republic/Slovakia. Other localities include Cumbria (England), France, Spain, and Colorado (USA).
