Amblygonite is found in a wide range of colors from pink, white, green, and blue to golden yellow, and more rarely, colorless. Large, transparent to translucent crystals may occur, but, as amblygonite is relatively soft, it is cut solely for collectors. Amblygonite is also found as cleavable and compact masses. It has often been confused with scapolite and brazilianite. The straw-yellow color is the most common.
